About the Role:

The BMS MA II plays a critical role in supporting healthcare delivery within the Health Care and Social Assistance industry by providing advanced medical assistance and patient care coordination. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient clinical operations through accurate patient data management, assisting healthcare providers with diagnostic and treatment procedures, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The role demands a high level of professionalism and attention to detail to facilitate seamless communication between patients, medical staff, and administrative teams. The BMS MA II contributes to improving patient outcomes by supporting clinical workflows and ensuring that all medical and administrative tasks are executed with precision. Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and basic computer applications.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical procedures, and healthcare regulations.
  • AHA CPR

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Medical Assisting or related healthcare field.
  • Experience working in a specialized healthcare environment such as cardiology, oncology, or pediatrics.
  • Additional certifications such as phlebotomy, EKG technician, or CPR/AED certification.
  • Familiarity with healthcare billing and coding processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments by preparing necessary equipment and documentation.
  • Collect and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant clinical information accurately and confidentially.
  • Coordinate patient flow and scheduling to optimize clinic efficiency and reduce wait times.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards in all clinical activities.
  • Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) and other patient documentation systems with precision.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to provide instructions, answer questions, and support their healthcare needs.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate smooth clinical operations and patient care delivery.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment to ensure availability and proper functioning.
